Director of Academic Programs - O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law

Responsibilities
Strategic planning to expand the reach and impact of our academic and capacity-building programs, including JD and LLM offerings, while ensuring continuous innovation in content and delivery
Outreach and collaboration with US and international partners including academic institutions, national and international organizations, governments, civil society, private sector organizations, law firms, and our alumni network
Recruitment, admissions and candidate selection, including travel to build new relationships, reviewing application materials, conducting interviews, and determining funding and scholarship awards
Curriculum development and extra-curricular programming, including identifying opportunities for innovative health law course offerings, identifying and recruiting adjunct faculty members, and delivering professional development and social extra-curricular programming
Academic and career advising, including providing guidance on course selections, ensuring compliance with degree and certificate requirements, reviewing resumes and cover letters, and identifying internship and employment opportunities
In addition to directing the L.L.M programs, the Director of Academic Programs may also engage in teaching and/or research projects for the O’Neill Institute
Qualification
Required
Possess a J.D. degree, or another appropriate graduate degree
Seven to ten years relevant job experience in health policy and law and/or related fields such as international trade law and human rights law
Knowledge of and passion in academic program management and/or capacity building programs
Exemplary oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills
Commitment to working with a diverse student body and faculty
Team approach to problem solving
Emotional and cross-cultural intelligence
Preferred
Specialized training in public or global health, such as an M.P.H or L.L.M
