Project Cargo Sales Manager
Altius Talent is a leading recruitment firm specializing in freight forwarding, and they are seeking a Project Cargo Sales Manager to expand their U.S. commercial platform. This role focuses on originating and structuring complex project cargo opportunities across various industrial sectors, ensuring the delivery of technically sound and commercially viable logistics solutions.
Responsibilities
Originate and develop new project cargo business across industrial, energy, infrastructure, and capital equipment sectors
Own the full sales lifecycle for project logistics opportunities, from early-stage feasibility discussions through contract award
Lead client engagement with EPCs, OEMs, engineering firms, and industrial shippers at a senior decision-making level
Structure complex logistics solutions involving air, ocean, and multimodal transport, including heavy-lift, oversized, out-of-gauge, breakbulk, and engineered cargo
Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, and operations teams to ensure solutions are executable and commercially sound
Lead RFQs, tenders, and long-cycle project pursuits, including technical clarification, pricing strategy, and risk positioning
Build and maintain a strong U.S. project pipeline with clear forecasting and opportunity tracking
Negotiate commercial terms, scopes of work, and contract structures aligned with project delivery requirements
Represent the business at industry events, client meetings, and project kick-offs
Maintain disciplined CRM and pipeline reporting in line with internal governance standards
Qualification
Required
Proven sales experience within U.S. project cargo or industrial logistics
Demonstrable success selling complex, non-commodity logistics solutions rather than transactional freight
Existing relationships with EPCs, OEMs, industrial shippers, or infrastructure stakeholders in the U.S. market
Strong technical understanding of heavy-lift, oversized, out-of-gauge, breakbulk, and engineered cargo movements
Ability to work cross-functionally with project execution and engineering teams
High level of commercial and contractual awareness
Confident, senior-level communicator capable of engaging technical and executive stakeholders
Self-directed, disciplined sales approach suited to long-cycle project pursuits
