Chief Financial Officer
Greater Opportunities for Broome and Chenango, Inc. is a financially strong and mission-driven nonprofit agency seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive leadership team. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and financial reporting standards, while collaborating with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies that align with the agency's mission.
Individual and Family Services
Responsibilities
Oversee all financial operations of the agency, including budgeting, forecasting, grant compliance, financial reporting, and audit preparation
Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and reporting standards across federal, state, and local programs
Direct the organization's financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions, board members, and the financial community
Directly supervise the employees in the Fiscal Department
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
Experience in non-profit and fund accounting or in a role of finance manager required with a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
Preferred
Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
