Turbofan Engine Test Engineer - 2nd Shift (Onsite)

Pratt & Whitney is working to transform the future of flight by designing, building, and servicing innovative engines. The Turbofan Engine Test Engineer provides engineering support for the testing of high-bypass turbofan engines, managing acceptance testing, troubleshooting engine performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Support Operations in solving technical engine test problems
Provide timely responses to Customer and Engineering Technical Questions
Work with Powerplant Engineers to execute the proper acceptance test procedures per the Workscope
Support troubleshooting by gathering, curating, and analyzing test data to produce conclusions for engine behavior at test
Monitor engine performance trends and turnback's to support the proactive reduction of work stops and rejects
Create, modify, and maintain work instructions for Pre-Test, Test, and Post-Test tasks
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve Test Cell Maturity, Standardization, and Robustness
Seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency using new materials, processes, or technology
Assist with implementation, operation, and troubleshooting of Test Cell facilities, sensor suite, and data systems
Assist with maintenance and qualification of the Test Cell System
Participate in failure investigations and Problem resolution boards
Be a source of in-depth technical knowledge on the testing of high-bypass turbofan engines
Become a subject matter expert for testing and prep processes related to high-bypass turbofan engines
Assist in training mechanics, inspectors and others related to various technical issues
Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures. Complete all required training and supporting applicable committee activities

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or other STEM field of study and 5 years prior experience to include manufacturing operations or production engineering or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 2 years' experience as listed above
Experience reading and/or interpreting tech data or engine manuals

Preferred

Prior FAR145 shop experience
GTF product knowledge
Knowledge of leadership operating model (LOM) tools
Experience with managing projects or leading a team
