E&I Specialist / Sr. E&I Specialist

Boardwalk Pipelines operates in the midstream portion of the natural gas industry, providing transportation and storage services. The E&I Specialist / Sr. E&I Specialist will perform installation, maintenance, and repairs for electronic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment, while also assisting with operations and maintenance of compression facilities.

Responsibilities

Participate in installing all instrumentation and electrical components safely
Troubleshoot and repair problems with control systems and instrumentation associated with gas reciprocating, electric drive and turbine engines & compressors, generators, and other auxiliary equipment
Troubleshoot problems with all electrical power systems up to and including 4160-volt systems and associated equipment
Run conduit, pull wire, change motors, maintain lighting systems and basic motor controls
Maintain and basic troubleshooting for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to maximize use of control technology and minimize installation and operating costs
Maintain advanced monitoring devices (gas & fire detectors, vibration and temperature/pressure/flow monitors)
The ability to read P&ID and electrical diagrams and other complex electrical drawings
Interpret plant electrical diagrams
Install, troubleshoot and maintain end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, air/fuel controllers, panel boards, etc
Perform preventive and general maintenance on electrical, electronic and pneumatic equipment
Perform preventative and general maintenance on brine pumps, dehydration facilities, hot oil systems, and auxiliary equipment
Perform preventative and general maintenance on measurement equipment and meter calibrations, and inspections of over pressure protection systems
Provide training and technical support

Required

Minimum of 3 years of electrical and instrumentation experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, control and instrumentation is required
Experience in engine and motor controls and associated equipment
Excellent verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and a history of safe work are required
More than 2 years of experience in pipeline and compressor station operations
Ability to work in hot, cold, muddy and wet environments and ability to stand for long periods of time along with the ability to climb and work at various heights
Ability to utilize and carry 50 pounds for a minimum of 50 feet and ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns
Valid driver's license with a good driving record with no restrictions. Chosen candidate will be required to maintain an MS Class D license
High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

10 Plus years of gas pipeline and or compressor maintenance experience
5 Plus years Electrical Experience
5 Plus years of Instrumentation experience
5 Plus years of Gas Measurement experience
Technical school or college
2-year A.S. Degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies
