Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional maintenance, repairs, and small-scale home improvements with skill, professionalism, and care
Proactively maintain and enhance clients’ homes, respond promptly to repair needs, and provide solutions that protect property value, improve safety, and elevate the homeowner experience
Complete most jobs in a single visit by arriving prepared, equipped, and ready to troubleshoot effectively
Maintain professionalism, clear communication, and respect for clients' homes
Stay organized, close out tickets promptly, and hit monthly performance markers without sacrificing quality
Work seamlessly with the team, share knowledge, and contribute ideas to improve processes
Represent Birdwatch’s values—safety, honesty, humility, and respect—in every interaction
Qualification
Required
Experience in home maintenance and/or construction required (2+ years)
Superior customer service skills, including the ability to manage challenging clients
Strong attention to detail
Superior organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently, is self-directive and detail-oriented
Ability to work with challenging personalities with grace
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to recognize systemic problems and offer solutions to enhance and improve current systems
Ability to be on-call and respond to emergencies as they arise
Ability to work a flexible schedule occasionally to include weekends, evenings, and holidays if needed
Ability to handle maintenance emergencies and stay calm under pressure
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, able to lift 75lbs+
Enjoys working on a team and developing talent
Willing to use technology in the field (training will be provided)
Knowledge of Philly area required and ability to navigate the city
Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred
Experience with training and mentoring is a plus!
Trade certifications are a plus!
