Administrative Assistant I -Early Steps

Responsibilities

Greets patients and confirms appointments
Communicates with families the procedures and guidelines for referrals
Answers questions, collects insurance documentation, and driver’s license
Explains and satisfies any necessary patient signature requirements
Receives and directs telephone calls to the appropriate personnel
Calls patients to confirm appointments and notifies clinical staff and service coordinators of patient arrivals
Prepare compliance reports of all scheduled appointments, no shows, cancellations, and attended appointments to assist with statistical reports for the Early Steps contract with CMS/DOH
Record filing with Iron Mountain, chart filing, and creating charts for new clients
Sorts and distributes mail
All other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience

Preferred

High School Diploma and two years of clerical/customer service experience, preferably in a health care or education setting serving the pediatric population
One year of computer inputting data and reviewing patient demographic material preferred
