Responsibilities
Support technical and laboratory activities by preparing, testing, and analyzing samples from municipal and industrial facilities
Assist with water and wastewater testing to help estimate thickening and dewatering performance
Participate in bench-scale and pilot-scale trials, supporting ongoing experiments and documenting results
Maintain accurate lab records and contribute to the creation of technical reports
Develop a planning and scheduling tool to streamline lab sample management
Work with process engineers to evaluate separation system performance using operational data, lab results, and field observations
Support field activities at treatment plants or pilot facilities, gaining hands‑on experience with equipment and operations
Assist in troubleshooting process issues by monitoring system parameters and collecting operational data
Develop a tracking system to improve reservation and management of pilot/demo units
Analyze experimental data and prepare technical summaries for engineering review
Help create reports and presentations that support process optimization and equipment selection
Present your internship findings to engineering and management teams at the conclusion of the program
Qualification
Required
You are a rising college junior or senior with preference for students pursuing coursework in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, biology, data analytics, or related fields
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret experimental and operational data
Interest in water, wastewater, or environmental processes and a desire to gain hands‑on experience
Attention to detail in testing, documentation, and data recording
Clear written and verbal communication skills to support reporting and team collaboration
Ability to work independently and in a team environment while managing multiple tasks
Comfort working in lab and field settings, including treatment plant environments
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel for data analysis
