The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for providing high-quality, detailed assistance in connecting clients 50 and over to available and appropriate resources in Chester County, while also potentially assisting with disaster response and recovery efforts.

Responsibilities
Provide benefit counseling services both on and offsite to clients over the age of 50, throughout Chester County, assisting clients obtain and maintain core benefits including but not limited to SNAP, Medicaid, Liheap and Extra Help
Provide Medicare counseling services to guests 50 and over, throughout the Coatesville and Downingtown area
Accurately record and maintain documentation, files, and data collection as required by local, state, and federal grants
Work within the BVAA I&A team to ensure continuity of care, this includes attending team meetings, county-wide meetings and appropriate trainings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree preferred; comparable experience and education will be considered
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with area services, community partners, and resources
Desire to work with diverse populations and the ability to put service of others before self
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of team
Ability to prioritize work and to appropriately delegate to meet deadlines
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, tact, and professionalism
Ability to function effectively within a crisis environment and make appropriate and safe decisions using a integrity-focused approach to providing interventions
In-depth familiarity with computers and computer software including Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail and solid understanding of basic math skills
High level of accuracy, efficiency, and punctuality
Personal transportation and the ability to travel daily, if needed, throughout the County and occasionally for local, regional, or national conferences or trainings
