Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
Recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent

Supervise and provide direction to engineers and technicians to support production needs and other individual assignments
Keep the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action
Build strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives
Make decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules to achieve department objectives
Supervise the Manufacturing Engineering team to support daily production initiatives, including equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, documentation, and personnel training
Lead staff to complete technical activities leading to new or improved products or process, for current programs, next generation programs, and to meet strategic goals and objectives of the company
Provide guidance and technical mentorship to engineers and technicians
Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput through the use of Lean manufacturing concepts including leadership for data driven decisions via DMAIC / A3 problem solving techniques
Work with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability and fixture improvements for program
Analyze and solve problems from basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts through a wide range of complex and advanced problems which require novel and new innovative approaches or a major breakthrough in technology
Understand engineering principles theories, concepts, practices and techniques
Individual should: Be innovative, resourceful, and work with minimal direction. Have excellent organization, problem solving, communication, and team leadership skills and work effectively with cross-functional teams
Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree Mechanical, Chemical or any engineering or technical degree OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum 5 years manufacturing engineering experience. Medical device experience required
Experience leading an engineering team or other engineering initiatives
Preferred
Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills. Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings
Demonstrated ability to create relationships, influence and move critical projects forward in alignment with key stakeholders
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment
