Pre-Sales Engineer - Power Systems

IntePros is seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) with a strong background in power electronics and power systems to support the sale and deployment of complex, engineered power solutions. This customer-facing role is critical in bridging sales, engineering, and deployment to ensure technical success and revenue generation.

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical partner to sales during pre-sales and solution development
Engage directly with customers, EPCs, integrators, and engineering teams to: Understand application requirements, Validate system designs, Recommend appropriate power solutions
Support RFPs, bids, and proposals through technical reviews and documentation
Provide input into quote development and solution configuration
Act as a technical escalation point during solution definition and early deployment
Maintain deep knowledge of: Power electronics and power conversion technologies, Competitive products and market trends
Collaborate cross-functionally with: Sales, Product management, Engineering
Contribute to continuous improvement of technical sales tools, documentation, and processes
25% Internal technical work and coordination
25% Customer-facing engagement supporting active deals
25% Quote, bid, and proposal technical review
25% Product knowledge development and competitor analysis

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
Strong background in power electronics, power conversion, or electrical infrastructure
Experience supporting or selling engineered or customized power systems
Comfortable engaging with technical buyers and engineers
Experience transitioning from: Field technician, Test engineer, Applications engineer
Ability to manage multiple technical priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

Preferred

Deep technical credibility in power and electronics
Comfortable influencing deals without being a pure support function
Understands how to support sales while maintaining engineering rigor
Curious, analytical, and proactive in learning competitive technologies
Able to “hunt” technically — not reliant on a fixed set of existing accounts
