Responsibilities
Develop and analyze complex financial and statistical reports related to quality, cost and effectiveness of healthcare services
Prepare budget and forecast and analyze financial results related to expectations
Assist in financial analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate outcomes
Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes
Assist with developing probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information
Analyze and evaluate required premium rates
Assess cash reserves and liabilities enable payment of future benefits
Assist with determining the equitable basis for distributing money for insurance benefits
Participate in merger and acquisition analysis
Additional responsibilities may vary per actuarial team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
One passed SOA exam
Demonstrated progress toward ASA designation
0-3 years of actuarial experience
Preferred
Experience with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, indexing, data analysis) and VBA
Experience with SQL, SAS, Python, or R programming
Central Time (CST) remote schedule is preferred for Medicaid Projections Team
Preferably seeking candidates based in California who can work a Pacific Time (PST) remote schedule for Marketplace ACA Pricing Team
