Responsibilities
Inspects purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices: Examines items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit
Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order
Inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to blueprints, parts manuals, company or military standards, and other specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices
Approves or rejects items, and records inspection and disposition information
May test hardness of metals, using testing equipment
May inspect outgoing and production line parts and materials
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED certificate
Technical/vocational training or college courses in technical sciences desirable
Four (4) years experience performing electro/mechanical inspections
Able to read and understand GD&T principles, drawings and specifications and to use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments
Must pass the color blindness test for the NDT method being used and the brightness discrimination test for Radiography Film Interpretation, as applicable
Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
Must be willing to work rotating shifts
Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notification
Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance
