Responsibilities
Collaborate with Design Managers and project teams to uphold electrical design standards and quality control
Develop and review electrical construction documents for accuracy, constructability, and code compliance
Perform power and lighting system design, equipment selection, and load calculations
Coordinate with Project Managers to meet project budgets, schedules, and milestones
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national building codes
Uphold VP Engineering’s core values of integrity, professionalism, responsiveness, and respect
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
5+ years of electrical system design experience for industrial, commercial and/or multifamily buildings
Strong knowledge of power distribution systems (208V three-phase, 240V single-phase, 480V three-phase)
Strong knowledge of lighting and power system design
Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
Strong knowledge of state and local building codes and technical standards
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and professional publications
Ability to interpret construction documents, codes, and technical specifications
