Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Social Work Program
Western Governors University (WGU) is seeking qualified Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Social Work to contribute to the ongoing development and review of curriculum within their planned Social Work courses. The role involves providing specialized expertise to ensure course content aligns with accreditation standards and supports competency-based education.

Review course materials to ensure alignment with current best practices and CSWE accreditation standards
Ensure alignment between assignments and learning objectives
Contribute feedback on curriculum improvements
Qualification
Required
Must have a social work license and a listed license# on the provided Resume/CV
Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
Minimum 5–7 years of professional social work practice experience
Experience teaching or developing coursework in higher education or an online learning environment
Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: •Social work practice (individuals, groups, or communities), Policy and advocacy, Clinical assessment and intervention, Human behavior and the social environment (HBSE), Social work research and evaluation, Diversity, equity, and inclusion in practice•
Preferred
Doctoral degree (DSW, PhD, or EdD) in Social Work or a closely related field
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard
Research or scholarly experience, including publications or conference presentations
Experience mentoring or training social work faculty or professionals
