Group Creative Director, Content Production
Rate is seeking a Group Creative Director to lead their Content Production team within the Content Studio. This role involves overseeing strategic, operational, and people management aspects while ensuring high-quality video and motion content delivery through effective collaboration with other teams.

Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the Content Production team, including performance management, professional development, and team culture
Evaluate individual and team performance regularly, providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities
Manage team capacity, workload distribution, and resource allocation to ensure sustainable productivity
Foster a collaborative, creative environment that encourages innovation and excellence
Assess current and future resource needs based on project pipeline and business objectives
Evaluate team capabilities and identify skill gaps, recommending hiring or development initiatives as needed
Determine appropriate staffing models for incoming briefs, balancing internal resources with external partners
Make strategic decisions about when to bring work in-house versus engaging external production partners
Review and evaluate incoming creative briefs for feasibility, scope, and resource requirements
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine project objectives, timelines, and deliverables
Determine production approach, format, and level of effort required for each project
Establish realistic timelines and milestones in partnership with Post Production and Design leadership
Oversee the Content Studio's Airtable-based workflow system, ensuring projects are tracked accurately from concept through delivery
Monitor project status, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to keep work moving efficiently
Manage timelines and ensure projects progress through production planning, execution, and handoff to Post Production
Maintain visibility into team workloads and project priorities through dashboards and reporting tools
Work hand-in-hand with Eric Smith and the Post Production and Design team to ensure seamless project transitions
Align on resource allocation, timelines, and priorities across both Content Studio functions
Ensure the Content Studio operates as a cohesive, integrated unit with clear communication and shared accountability
Collaborate with the Creative Studio leadership on integrated brand campaigns requiring cross-studio coordination
Provide high-level creative direction and strategic guidance on major projects and campaigns
Ensure all content aligns with brand standards and achieves business objectives
Stay current on industry trends, production techniques, and emerging platforms
Champion creative excellence while balancing practical constraints
Serve as the primary point of contact for Content Production team matters
Communicate team capacity, project status, and potential challenges proactively to leadership
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Marketing, Communications, and other departments
Represent the Content Production team in planning discussions and strategic initiatives
Qualification
Required
10+ years in content production (video, motion, or integrated creative), including 5+ years in senior leadership
Proven experience leading and scaling creative production teams in in-house, agency, or hybrid environments
Strong command of end-to-end production workflows, project scoping, resourcing, and capacity planning
Ability to shift from hands-on creative execution to strategic, operational, and people leadership
Experience providing high-level creative direction while balancing timelines, budgets, and resources
Proficiency with workflow and project management tools
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Design, Post Production, Marketing, and Communications
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
