Start in 2026 SummerGenentech is seeking a highly talented and motivated summer intern in their Department of Discovery Oncology. The successful candidate will identify and characterize novel oncology targets to develop cancer drugs, utilizing various biochemical and molecular techniques.

Responsibilities
Design and execute experiments independently or in collaboration with staff scientists
Interpret and communicate results in small groups or in department presentation forums
Maintain accurate, detailed and timely records using an electronic notebook
Participate in Genentech internship program activities and events
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
Required Majors: Cell/Molecular/Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, Genetics, Biochemistry or related disciplines
Hands-on research experience in a biochemistry/cell biology/molecular biology lab
Experience with mammalian cell culture
Experience with molecular biology and/or biochemistry laboratory techniques, such as PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, immunoblots, co-IPs
Experience with cell-based assays, such as drug-response assays, FACS
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
Preferred
Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
