Billing Specialist
Gomez Law, APC is a Los Angeles–based real estate litigation law firm located in Koreatown. They are seeking an experienced Billing & Account Specialist to support the firm’s billing, collections, and financial operations.

Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and issue client invoices in accordance with engagement agreements and firm billing policies
Ensure accuracy of time entries, expenses, flat fees, retainers, and trust account balances
Coordinate with attorneys and legal staff to resolve billing questions or discrepancies prior to invoicing
Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances
Follow up and Communicate professionally with clients regarding outstanding invoices, balances, payment plans, and billing concerns
Process and apply client payments accurately
Track retainers, replenishment requests, and trust account activity
Handle bookkeeping functions related to billing, collections, and client payments
Process refunds, credits, and billing adjustments with appropriate approvals
Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with firm policies and California trust accounting requirements
Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, intake, and operations teams on billing-related matters
Attend regular team and operations meetings and provide updates on billing, collections, and AR status
Prepare reports on receivables, collections, and billing performance for leadership
Serve as a primary point of contact for client billing and invoice inquiries
Resolve billing disputes professionally and efficiently
Escalate complex or sensitive billing issues to management as needed
Qualification
Required
2–3+ years of experience in billing and accounts receivable within a law firm
Strong understanding of legal billing practices, retainers, and trust accounting
Experience communicating directly with clients regarding invoices and payments
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Experience in a litigation law firm, preferably real estate litigation
Familiarity with legal billing or practice management software (e.g., Clio, Lawmatics, QuickBooks, or similar)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven law firm environment
Spanish fluency strongly preferred
