InternHensel Phelps is a leading employee-owned general contractor specializing in construction and facility services. The Safety Intern will support the Safety Manager and project team in ensuring safety compliance and assist in various safety-related tasks throughout the construction project.
Construction
Responsibilities
Gain knowledge of the company Safety & Health Program
Learn applicable safety and health regulations as well as ways for effective company implementation
Become familiar with the construction process
Assist the Project Superintendent in the project site-specific safety orientation and other safety training
Be visible in the field for safety observations
Assist in the development and review of Activity Hazard Analysis
Assist the project team in conducting project safety audits
Assist the project team with accident and/or near miss investigations
Attend awareness level safety courses and other construction related courses
Perform periodic inspections such as fire extinguishers, ladders, first aid kits, etc
Qualification
Required
Strong communication skills
Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite
Preferred
Pursuing a 4-year degree in Occupational Safety & Health
