Responsibilities
Manage and lead the Learning & Coaching operating model that supports the Branch Network (Domestic and International), Workplace, and Centralized Solutions. Build an integrated approach to learning delivery, including: Standardized role‑based learning pathways, Clear milestones aligned to performance expectations, Omni‑channel learning modalities (in‑person, virtual, micro‑learning, digital tools)
Expand and modernize the Coaching function to scale with channel growth, ensuring coaches consistently develop sales expertise, behavioral skills, and practice management excellence
Shape organizational structure, talent strategy, and resource allocation to support a high-performing learning organization
Partner with key stakeholders to enable the sales channel’s relationship operating model, with a focus on: Practice management excellence, Core wealth management knowledge and broader specialization, Financial planning skills, Trusted advisor capabilities
Collaborate closely with Schwab Center for Financial Research to ensure curriculum reflects Schwab’s point of view on critical wealth management topics
Work closely with Client Experience, Talent Management, Compensation, Compliance, Supervision, Legal, Wealth & Advice and product business partners to design and execute: New product and positioning training, Regulatory training, Leadership and management development initiatives
Serve as a trusted advisor for enterprise initiatives requiring learning strategy and change enablement
Champion innovation in learning, including the integration of AI, simulation, data analytics, and modern digital learning tools
Drive efficiency and scale by introducing automated workflows, updated curricula design processes, and improved measurement frameworks
Maintain a 'can‑if' mindset—testing, piloting, and implementing new approaches that accelerate skills development and improve learner experience
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 10 years leading learning and training function for the branch/retail enterprise organization in a diversified Financial Services firm or leading large service organizations wherein they had experience with recruiting, training, and developing talent
A demonstrated track record of execution of large, complex platform initiatives
Track record of successful collaboration with key cross-functional partners and varying levels of leadership to advance the Service organizations objectives
Experience in providing thought leadership in innovation on learning strategy to drive transformation in talent
Demonstrate an understanding of the employee experience life cycle from how we show up on college campuses, pre-day one ideal candidate experience, day one experience, on boarding experience, licensing experience etc
Ability to leverage strategic and analytical capabilities to make sound, timely decisions based on client and field input supporting and maintaining a strong service delivery environment including evaluating risk versus expense versus the client experience
An ability to identify and drive solutions at scale
Extremely strong client relationship management and negotiation skills required with the ability to assess and effectively communicate processing capabilities and identify alternative solutions for clients and business partners
Combination of strategic, practical, and creative thinker; strong 'systemic' thinker who can connect all the dots, taking the initiative and resulting capabilities from concept to execution
Confidence and courage in business and talent decisions, actions, and communications with a demonstrated ability to take decisive action when needed, including championing ideas, position, or dissent
Experience managing a significant budget and hiring plan with material enterprise-wide business impact
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
Strong emotional intelligence/maturity and senior level executive presence
Experienced in effectively assessing, selecting, and developing talent for the firm; adept at providing balanced, direct, and actionable feedback to employees
Experience managing multiple priorities and overseeing distinct teams with varied strengths
An undergraduate degree is required
Series 7 or 24 is required
