Associate Manufacturing Engineer

AAM - American Axle & Manufacturing is a leading global Tier 1 Automotive and Mobility Supplier, and they are seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join their Metal Forming team. This role involves supporting the engineering ownership of forged automotive components and associated manufacturing processes, implementing manufacturing techniques, and ensuring production-part acceptance.

Responsibilities

Supports engineering ownership of assigned forged automotive components throughout the product lifecycle
Assists in ensuring production-part acceptance and manufacturing readiness
Identifies and resolves issues related to design, manufacturability, tooling, or build sequences
Assists with implementation and optimization of manufacturing techniques, tooling, equipment, and automation
Participates in equipment installations, modifications, and operator training
Assists with control charting, SPC, and capability analysis
Supports CNC programming, validation, and machining fixture design
Works with Fanuc robots and automation equipment
Supports APQP, PPAP, and automotive quality requirements
Assists with root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality, safety, and environmental issues
Supports compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and internal EHS procedures
Participates in safety risk assessments, hazard identification, and corrective action implementation
Maintains accurate documentation and protect confidential information
Supports scrap reduction, cycle time improvement, and Lean initiatives
Participates in automation and technology adoption efforts
All other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in an applicable Engineering discipline
0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of GD&T, CNC concepts, and CAD software
