Principal Financial Group is seeking interns for their Group Benefits, Sales Internship Program for Summer 2026. In this role, interns will provide sales support and assistance to the Group Insurance sales and account management teams while learning about the distribution and support of retirement and group insurance customers.

Responsibilities

Teaming up with our Group Insurance sales and account management team members to provide sales support, account management assistance, and intermediary support

Assisting regional sales offices while learning how we distribute and support our retirement and/or group insurance customers

Impacting territory sales and overall business unit success

Getting to know many areas within Principal, including underwriting, new business, marketing, administration, product, sales and compensation

Qualification

Sales experienceCommunication skillsExtracurricular involvementRelationship buildingInterest in sales

Required

Currently pursuing or completed undergraduate or graduate level degree

Involvement in extracurricular activities and/or involvement within the community

Interest in a career in sales

Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Travel will be required

Preferred

Preference will be given to students who have experience with sales either through a previous internship, involvement, or work experience
