The role involves applying advanced transportation engineering principles to enhance the efficiency and safety of transportation systems, as well as preparing traffic design plans using various engineering applications.

Responsibilities
Apply broad knowledge of leading-edge transportation engineering principles and techniques to improve the efficiency, reliability, resilience, and safety of transportation systems
Analyze and document findings in technical memos, project reports and research summaries
Utilize Excel, Synchro, VISSIM, HSM, ISATe, Cube and additional traffic operation applications to analyze transportation systems and summarize results and propose improvement plans
Prepare traffic design plans for traffic signals, signs, pavement markings, lighting, and ITS devices using Microstation or AutoCAD
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or relevant field required
PE is required; PTOE desired
8+ years of relevant experienced
Must have self-initiative to solve problems and to keep up to date on the latest innovations in traffic engineering
Ability to complete assignments with high quality, on time, and within budget
Ability to seamlessly juggle between competing projects and priorities
Must demonstrate technical professional competency in traffic engineering and transportation planning as it relates to the safety, planning, engineering, design, and operational needs of transportation systems
Preferred
Experience with ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) technology is a plus
Experience with safety analysis techniques preferred
Demonstrated capabilities with Microstation and AutoCAD graphic packages preferred
Experience in multiple types of traffic studies, development of microsimulation networks and analysis of transportation data sets desired
Demonstrated project management experience is desired
