Responsibilities
Perform complex mechanical design for custom automated assembly equipment using SolidWorks
Own mechanical designs from initial layout through detailed component design
Apply advanced engineering principles to solve non-routine or complex design challenges
Participate in formal design reviews with Project Engineers and incorporate feedback
Ensure designs meet requirements for accuracy, manufacturability, safety, and performance
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, and systems teams
Support system integration by delivering complete, high-quality mechanical designs
Maintain design rigor while meeting aggressive project timelines
Qualification
Required
6+ years of experience designing automated assembly systems or custom automation
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (required)
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles
Strong understanding of automation equipment and components
Strong understanding of system-level machine design
Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Comfortable producing accurate designs under tight deadlines
Receptive to design feedback and iterative review cycles
Preferred
Experience with Windchill or similar PDM/PLM systems
