Information Technology Help Desk Technician

Responsibilities

Provide Tier 1–2 support for daily end-user issues (onsite and limited remote)
Manage user lifecycle tasks: create/modify/disable users, password resets, and account unlocks
Support identity and access workflows across Active Directory and Azure AD / Entra ID (integration in progress)
Troubleshoot MFA / Azure SSO login issues and access problems
Support Microsoft 365: Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office desktop apps
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues on HP professional workstations (Windows/Wintel platform)
Image and provision new workstations; perform hardware/software upgrades; support new rollouts
Support desktop moves (desk setups, monitor/dock/peripheral configuration)
Assist with GPO-related troubleshooting (basic understanding, triage, escalation with evidence)
Manage and troubleshoot HP network printers (drivers, queues, connectivity)
Provision and troubleshoot VOIP phones (primarily Polycom VVX450)
Monitor and triage dashboards/portals, including:
Commvault (backup job status), security/AV tools, and other web-based management portals
Monitor and respond to alerts for APC UPS/power systems (basic triage and escalation)
Support conference rooms and meeting setups (including Logitech conference room solutions)
Document work in the ticketing system and contribute to internal KB/runbooks

Required

Strong working knowledge of Windows 11 and the Microsoft Office suite (mandatory)
Experience supporting users in a professional helpdesk/desktop support environment
Familiarity with Active Directory tasks (password resets, unlocks, group membership, basic user admin)
Strong customer service, communication, and ticket documentation skills
Willingness to learn multiple web-based admin portals and monitoring dashboards

Preferred

IT degree and 3+ years of IT experience (strong preference)
Exposure to Azure AD / Entra ID, SSO, and MFA troubleshooting
Basic understanding of Group Policy (GPO) and how it affects user/device settings
Exposure to networking concepts (DNS/DHCP/IP, Wi-Fi basics, VPN fundamentals)
Some familiarity with Mac OS
