They are seeking a Packaging Engineer to provide design solutions and support for packaging engineering at their HVACR Technologies manufacturing locations, working under the guidance of the Packaging Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities
Apply basic mechanical sciences to perform design analysis of packaging components, including industry standard packing tests, basic static/dynamic compression analysis, strength of materials, and design optimization
Implement returnable packaging designs to promote sustainability, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction
Operate computer programs to support design analysis and engineering efforts
Support project teams to develop and document packaging designs and specifications that meet the requirements of the product specifications and program charter
Produce and maintain accurate design records in accordance with specific project requirements using accepted corporate methods and Design Standards, including engineering notices, bills of materials, specifications, and related documentation
Provide support to product engineering, sales and marketing, engineering labs, manufacturing facilities, supplier quality, procurement, logistics, and advanced manufacturing
Complete distribution studies, analyze, and summarize results with environmental data recorders
Some travel required (5-10%)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or an equivalent degree, plus work experience in related packaging design and/or manufacturing industry (co-op experience will be considered)
Knowledge of ASTM, ISTA, and NMFTA Industry Standard Packaging Testing Procedures
Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional presentation skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and on a team
Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
Preferred
Two (2) years of related professional packaging experience
Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements
Two (2) years of ArtiosCAD, or AutoCAD experience
TOPS (Total Optimization Packaging Software) or CAPE (Computer Aided Packaging Engineering) experience
Experience with the major packaging materials, processes, and machinery
Returnable packaging design techniques and process experience
