Responsibilities
Maintain student data sources and existing dashboards within the SAS VA environment and build new dashboards
Provide and analyze data on students and other variables as required to report to internal and external constituencies
Maintain a thorough knowledge of SAS for statistical analyses
Complete research projects and provide summary reports of the findings
Work as a liaison between internal and external functional and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards to enhance ad hoc reporting and data visualizations
Work as a collaborative team member who shares expertise, individual knowledge, and skills through working closely with others to increase value to the University
Respond and consult with users to assist them in understanding reports and data
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of professional experience in a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Ability to analyze data, including numerical detail, identify patterns or trends, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to present various data in clear concise forms to a variety of audiences
Basic working knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, legal statutes, and analysis and reporting of financial data
Preferred
This 12 month position requires excellent writing, oral communication, and computer skills
The successful candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of SQL and SAS programming and will be required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with data providers and consumers
A Masters Degree in a related field and two years of data analysis work experience is preferred
Preferred qualifications include experience working in an institutional research setting, a basic working knowledge of student data sources including financial aid, admissions, and student records
