Lead Video Specialist - GCPS TV

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Lead Video Specialist to support the development, production, and distribution of video communications for GCPS TV. The role involves collaborating on video projects, managing production functions, and ensuring high-quality content that aligns with the district’s mission and vision.

Responsibilities

Assist with pre-production for assigned video projects
Assist in planning program formats, writing scripts, and/or preparing interview content as requested
Assist in contacting talent, guests, and hosts regarding video projects as requested
Assist in organizing and scheduling recording sessions
Demonstrate relevant creativity in developing programs, projects, and other video communication ideas
Assist with production functions for the Department of GCPS TV
Setup video cameras, audio, and lighting technology for field and studio productions
Collaboratively prepare talent and/or guests for recording
Operate video camera, sound, graphics, switcher, or lighting systems during recordings and live events
Lead in script drafting and facilitating field or studio productions as assigned to meet production goals
Assist with set construction
Assist in maintaining control room, studio, prop storage, gear storage, and other department areas as assigned
Assist with post-production functions for the Department of GCPS TV
Edit video and audio to meet department standards using editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro
Demonstrate skillful use of software including Photoshop, PowerPoint, After Effects, ProPresenter, and others needed to produce content for GCPS TV
Follow department processes relating to cataloging and archiving digital content using the media asset management software of the department
Create graphics and animations for video projects
Maintain project management strategies throughout the life cycle of the video production workflow
Follow department processes relating to cataloging and archiving digital content using the media asset management software of the department
Adhere to department norms for project management including: workflow, deadlines, communication, feedback, and revisions
Participate as a member of a production team to support district live events
Assist in the setup at locations of video field production equipment
Perform duties necessary as a team member during the live events
Assist in the break down and removal of video field production equipment
Provide continuous quality improvement to departmental processes
Attend and productively contribute to staff meetings
Employee occasionally is to work events in the evenings or on the weekends outside of district business hours
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Three years of related experience with skills in video production, including writing, producing, directing, field production, studio production, and post production required
Strong technology skills, including but not limited to current digital video production equipment, such as cameras, audio equipment, digital editing software, sound and graphics software, broadcast switchers, and studio and field video lighting gear
Ability to manage and complete multiple video projects to GCPS TV standards with hard deadlines
Ability to problem solve and work well under pressure
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment requiring flexibility, adaptability, and maintaining composure
Willingness to learn
Ability to successfully work with colleagues and stakeholders and generate a positive, can-do attitude
Strong attention to detail and patience to adapt to changes when needed
Have a creative mind with the drive to stay current in video production technology

Preferred

Bachelors degree in related field preferred
