Student Trainee (Administration/Office Management)

Responsibilities
Performing general office support work such as preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents
Maintaining office records
Locating and compiling data or information from files
Compiling information for reports
Keeping a calendar and informing other of deadline and other important dates
Sorting, scanning, filing documents in an established alphabetical or simple subject-matter filling system and similar clerical support work within the organization
Included is typing work prepared from written material and/or voice recordings
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required

You must be at least 16 years old (by closing date of this vacancy announcement)
Selective Service Registration-required males (over 18) born after 12/31/59
Must be accepted for/currently enrolled in a qualified educational institution
Subject to background/security investigation
Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process. Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)

Interns with no previous related education or experience may qualify based on completion of high school or GED diploma
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations
You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Clerical, Customer Service, Information Assurance
A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education
Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
