Revenue Accounting Manager (Energy)

LHH is seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to support their oil & gas client on a part-time consulting basis. This fully remote role requires a seasoned professional with deep industry knowledge and strong ERP skills to manage revenue processes effectively.

Human Resources

Responsibilities

Lead monthly revenue close for operated and non‑operated assets, including accruals, reporting, and compliance
Ensure accurate recording of operator revenue statements, production volumes, pricing, severance tax, marketing fees, and related metrics
Oversee monthly revenue accruals and manage volume allocations across producing wells
Review contracts and regulatory filings to ensure accurate revenue recognition and state/federal reporting
Partner with production, marketing, regulatory, and division order teams to maintain clean, integrated data across systems
Strengthen internal controls, reporting processes, data reconciliation, and general ledger accuracy
Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce manual work
Provide support for tax, audits, and ad hoc internal requests

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
7+ years of oil and gas revenue accounting experience with strong management skills
Proficiency with revenue and production accounting systems
Strong analytical skills with expertise in Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Spotfire
Solid understanding of gas plant/midstream statements and marketing contracts
Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teams

Preferred

CPA preferred
Central and Eastern Time Zone working hours are preferred
