Responsibilities

Perform simulations and analyses that ensure system designs meet technical performance targets. Analyses may include satellite or ground system design, optical or radio frequency link budgets, network connectivity and capacity, or other operational scenarios
Support and conduct system analysis (functional & performance), interface definition, and detailed trade studies to inform architecture tradeoffs
Model complex space and ground network architectures for new system functionality
Build relationships with stakeholders to understand their technical needs and collaborate to find optimal solutions using data from high-fidelity physics, network, and software simulation tools
Analyze data and use it to apply new ideas and approaches, such as designing and developing existing and new systems
Assist in requirements analysis, definition, decomposition, and management
Participate in major reviews such as: Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Program Increment Demonstrations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
2+ years of related system engineering experience for complex technical projects, preferably direct experience in telecommunications, ground networks, electronic products development/manufacturing, or satellites
Ability to work on U.S. Government programs (CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information))
Curiosity and tenacity to find optimal technical solutions and defend with data
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information and ideas to others
Confidence to easily build meaningful relationships with others
Must be able to prioritize tasks, identify and correct mistakes, and ask for help when needed
Be active in seeking out ways to improve yourself, gain new knowledge, and share knowledge with teammates
Travel up to 5%
Work in the office at least 3 days a week to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholders
US Citizenship required

Preferred

Master's degree in engineering or related field OR equivalent relevant experience
Experience with Systems Tool Kit (STK), AFSIM, similar physical modeling software, or network modeling software
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering software and languages such as MagicDraw/Cameo and SysML/UML or similar languages
Programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, etc
Working knowledge of networking, routers, switches, satellites, orbital mechanics, etc
Familiarity with Atlassian Tool Suite (R4J, Jira, Confluence, etc.)
