Responsibilities
Perform roadway intersection, interchange, and corridor transportation planning studies from start to finish. Ability to identify and diagnose study needs, perform traffic forecasting and future year analysis, develop alternative options, and produce documentation in support of grant funding applications
Deliver traffic operations and safety analyses to support traffic engineering and roadway design projects
Communicate technical information during multi-agency and multi-discipline study working group meetings
Manage budgets, schedules, and technical teams to meet study milestones
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or relevant field is required
PE is required
6+ years of relevant experience
Understands and is able to apply Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) and Highway Safety Manual (HSM) traffic analysis methods
Proficient in standard traffic operations modeling and simulation tools used in Virginia, which include HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, Vissim, and SIDRA
Experience with traffic analysis methods described in the VDOT Traffic Operations and Safety Analysis Manual (TOSAM) and VDOT Forecasting Guidebook
