IT Specialist I

Members First Credit Union is seeking an IT Specialist to join their collaborative team. The primary purpose of this position is to provide first-level technical support and assist in the administration and maintenance of various IT devices while fostering a culture of belonging and empowerment.

Responsibilities

Provide first level of technical support for our staff
Support the administration and maintenance of our workstations, phones, printers, and other M1-owned devices. This includes OS updates, software updates, firmware updates, hardware, software, telephone systems, and printer support
Researching and resolving user issues related to network access, passwords, printers, PC hardware/software, email, etc
Adhere to helpdesk procedures and keep documentation maintained for knowledgebase
Participate in helpdesk schedule rotation
Assist in in monitoring ticket queues. Ensure and verify the accuracy of all data within the ticketing system
Focusing on maximizing productivity and uptime, while enhancing the customer experience
Maintain security of all systems and data
Must be available to work between 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. M-F and Saturday (rotation) 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. business hours as scheduled, and some outside of normal working hours for meetings, education/trainings, and/or maintenance
This is a hybrid position with the expectations of 3 days in the office
Travel to branches as needed using personal vehicle (reimbursed for mileage according to Federal rate)

Successfully obtain Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation through America's Credit Unions within first year of service with M1
Maintaining a proper maintenance schedule and inventory for all computer and communications hardware and software
Process data, perform variety of clerical duties, and support function for the Members First Credit Union Information Technology department
Ensure and verify the accuracy of all data
Prioritization of requests will be key, as well as the ability to escalate requests to other IT staff members and/or our vendor support teams
Work towards a good working knowledge of all credit union products and services and how they interact with the hardware
Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet the current needs of Members First Credit Union
Upholding the highest standards of customer service at all times
Escalate requests to other IT staff members and/or our vendor support teams
Entering service requests accurately and with fully documented detail into appropriate ticketing system
Keep work and storage areas clean and organized
Advise staff in the proper use of computer hardware and software
Be an additional resource and support for some of our specialized services, functions, and groups
Cleaning computers, printers, and related equipment and maintaining a regular maintenance schedule

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and /or outside the organization generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information, which may require some discussion
Hourly employees must accurately log hours on their timesheet
Effectively apply and maintain financial counseling concepts, gained through America's Credit Unions' Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP), to promote financial well-being
Ability to move or transport up to 50 pounds
Able to remain stationary for 2-4 hours at a time
Any combination of one or more of the following: (1) Zero to three years similar or related experience or (2) A two-year college degree, or (3) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (4) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (5) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program
Microsoft 365 products (primarily Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with Windows desktop OS and browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari
Understanding of security (social engineering, hashing/encryption, viruses, spyware, etc)
Must be able to operate a variety of computer hardware and software packages, along with other office equipment
Basic knowledge of networking terminology and concepts
Basic knowledge of iOS and Android devices

Preferred

Have a basic knowledge of credit union operations preferred
