Florida A&M University's Office of the Controller is seeking a Coordinator for Accounting. This role involves supervisory and accounting work, overseeing Accounts Payable and Document Imaging operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing vendor payment processes.

Responsibilities
Directly supervise Accounts Payable and Document Imaging operations
Inform subordinates of all relevant University regulations and internal operating procedures
Provide access to related documents
Ensure compliance with University regulations, Florida statutes, and internal operating procedures
Conduct and document performance evaluations promptly per University guidelines
Employ accountability measures for compliance
Supervise, train, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for AP processors
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
Monitor vendor payments for compliance with prompt payment guidelines
Track invoice processing, production errors, budget exceptions, unposted vouchers, invoice resolution, and document management
Assist with processing invoices for payment when necessary to ensure payment compliance
Troubleshoot vendor and invoice payment issues
Resolve complex vendor inquiries or discrepancies
Work closely with other departments to resolve invoice and payment issues
Review policies and procedures for efficiencies and recommend process improvements
Manage the Invoice Resolution queue and spreadsheet to ensure invoices over 25+ days are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
Collaborate with General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Human Resources, Contracts and Grants and Cash Management teams
Assist in preparing work papers for year-end financial statements and other fiscal reports
Support preparation of 1099 Forms
Perform day-to-day operations, month-end and year-end closing, and financial statement preparation
Assist in maintaining financial accounting systems and ensuring internal controls
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of related experience; or master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization
Possession of a State of Florida CPA certificate may be required
Highly proficient knowledge of electronic data processing as it applies to fiscal and accounting activities
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations
Ability to analyze, understand, and interpret policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
