Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with internal resources and remote engineering to create the overall project timeline, as well as define deliverables and guide the team to completion
Coordinate with Marketing to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable and consistent with the voice of the customer
Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review and coordination with internal and third-party compliance
Ensure project tooling budget and product cost requirements are met
Coordinate with sourcing team to ensure vendors are identified, quotations are obtained, and quality standards/form deliverables are met
5% international travel and 5% domestic travel required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field and five (5) years of related experience required
5 years of experience in product design with lighting fixtures
5 years of experience with SolidWorks 3-D modeling software
3 years of experience working with Thermal and Structural simulations
Experience with SAP PLM
Familiarity with electrical and optical engineering principles and all design, manufacturing and regulatory (UL, ES, etc.) aspects of LED lighting systems for general lighting
Experience with injection molded plastic, die cast, forging, sheet metal design, manufacturing methods and processes
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs
5% international travel and 5% domestic travel required
