The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) is focused on connecting jobseekers with career opportunities. The UI Collections Specialist will be responsible for recovering debts owed to the agency by claimants and employers while ensuring compliance with agency policies and federal/state regulations.

Responsibilities
The UI Collections Specialist will be responsible for the recovery of debts owed to the agency by claimants and employers to ensure system integrity and viability in accordance with agency policies and procedures
In accordance with Federal/State laws and regulations, the incumbent will exercise judgement and initiative to carry out the agency's collection efforts on claimant and employer debts
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma and one (1) year experience in a call center, account documentation, or collections environment
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
Preferred
Excellent communications and the ability to negotiate successful outcomes with internal and external customers
Must be customer-focused with a strong sense of ethics and integrity
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Ability to be persuasive, persistent, and firm when needed
