Fire Fiscal Analyst 1 (FA1)

Responsibilities

Primary fiscal support for the South Puget Sound Fire Program for Payroll, Benefits, Reimbursements, Travel & Credit Cards
Provide Fire Finance Training to seasonal and permanent staff, fire service cooperators, and casual hires
Responsible for maintaining records for large fires within the South Puget Sound Region according to State and Agency policies, procedures, and guidelines
Assist the Region Fire Cost Analyst in preparing monthly fire suppression reporting of actual & estimated costs to be included in the Agency’s Fire Cost Reporting requirements for the State Legislature
Provide support to our cooperative partners at the region, state & federal levels according to the Interagency Agreement, Local Operating Plan, Master Agreement, Wage & Equipment Rates, and OFM Travel rules & regulations

Required

One year of fiscal technical experience
Experience in setting priorities to meet work deadlines and produce results
Experience with Payroll and Accounts Payable
Experience using Adobe Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel in a professional setting
Experience using software such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc
Experience in extracting/generating reports from multiple financial reporting systems in multiple formats (Excel, CSV, PDF), preparing financial reports & statements
Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, laws, and practices – GAAP
Ability to make decisions within delegated authority

Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations, and public records retention and requests

Preferred

Experience successfully prioritizing work with inflexible and conflicting deadlines
Associate degree or higher in accounting, auditing, or budgeting
Knowledge of the Department of Natural Resources or OFM financial policies and procedures
Fifteen (15) course credit hours of accounting, auditing, or budgeting
Experience using SAP software such as NaturE or HRMS
Experience with government fiscal operations
Demonstrated aptitude to learn business computer software systems
