Responsibilities

Prospecting & Lead Generation – Routinely engages in prospect outreach to grow breadth and depth of customer contacts and uncover opportunities. Capitalizes on warm leads generated by marketing events and thought leadership efforts. Leverages network to create and build relationships with prospective customers. Skillfully expands contacts within customer organizations. Develops alliances and partnerships within key accounts that provide insight on future opportunities
Opportunity Qualification and Discovery – Consistently converts sales leads into qualified opportunities via detailed research and customer contact. Understands the method(s) used for qualifying opportunities and forecasting the likelihood of close. Able to accurately assess potential sale value and delivery resources required. Partners with internal stakeholders to provide update on status. Proactively identifies potential opportunities. Leverages relationships to see further and deeper into customer needs
Pre-Sale Communication – Partners internally to ensure the compilation of customer specific pitch decks. Owns the overall proposal process including final version and delivery to client. Effectively secures insights on customer requirements and customizes presentations and proposals to address those needs. Leverages personal experience and colleague's expertise to devise innovative solutions and service offerings. Shares insights gained from customer feedback on proposals with both BD leadership and Sales Ops
Presentation and Negotiation Skills – Expertly navigates sales meetings and presentations. Acts as facilitator for questions. Effectively leverages senior sales and operational leadership as appropriate. Can effectively frame value for service. Demonstrates the ability to adjust presentations and navigate conversations to ensure all customer stakeholder's needs are addressed
Customer Relationship Management – Ensures value to customer. Partners with internal resources to navigate the contracting process. Supports the development and maintenance of MSA’s. Prepares for kick off and transition to delivery. Stays actively engaged in the process, securing feedback from the customer, and informing operations of organizational changes and other factors that may impact delivery. Leverages excellent delivery for repeat business and customer expansion
Account Planning and Funnel Management – Independently develops and manages formal account plans for selected accounts. Acts as mentor for junior sales people on account plan development. Expertly manages the sales funnel, cultivates relationships, and demonstrates expertise on customer decision makers, policies, processes, trends. Keeps up with results post close. Secures project debriefs and uses insights to expedite opportunities through the funnel
Business and Sales Process Acumen – Keeps up with marketplace trends and understands competitive forces as well as industry changes that can affect organizational goals

Required

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study
Minimum 10+ years of experience in business development in the biotechnology pharmaceutical, and / or healthcare industry
Experience with the needs of medical affairs, market access, R&D, commercial, safety, and pharmacovigilance teams within life sciences companies
Comprehensive understanding of the RWE / HEOR / RWD and market access landscape
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Salesforce, and Excel
Ability to travel domestically and internationally 50-70%

Preferred

Master's degree in an RWE / HEOR-related field (e.g., public health, epidemiology, MBA, health services research)
Additional experience in RWE, project management, business development, and / or life science focused strategy consulting
