Responsibilities

Provide legal and strategic advice to internal clients on compliance with U.S. and international customs and import laws
Conduct HTS classifications, COO determinations (including marking requirements), and tariff impact assessments associated with company's products, infrastructure projects, partnerships, research and development projects, prototypes, vendors, and suppliers
Provide legal and strategic advice on other U.S. and international legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA) that apply at the time of import
Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams across the company to assess and mitigate import compliance risks related to business initiatives and transactions
Assist in the development, implementation, management, and continuous improvement of policies, processes, and controls intended to enhance company's global trade compliance program, and in the remediation of issues identified in audits and investigations
Develop, review, and advise on global trade compliance provisions in contracts
Undertake special projects and support other compliance program initiatives as needed

Required

In-depth knowledge of U.S. import laws including HTS classification, country of origin (COO) determinations and marking requirements, U.S. tariffs (IEEPA, Secs. 232 and 301), and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) import requirements as well as experience engaging with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
Candidates must be able to work full-time
The work will be performed remotely
Company's preferred pricing model is monthly with a budget of $16,000 - $18,000 per month based on experience
For the duration of the engagement, candidates will be employed through an Employer of Record (EOR)
The hired attorney will also be required to review the company's Confidential Information and Inventions Assignment
