Sr. Project Manager - Structural Steel
recruitAbility is seeking a motivated Structural Steel Construction Project Manager to join their dedicated team. The role involves overseeing the progress of industrial and commercial construction projects, ensuring alignment of project scope with budget and timelines.
Responsibilities
Review and assess vendor proposals
Manage multiple parallel projects using formal project planning techniques
Set up and manage project schedules, objectives, and deliverables
Establish fabrication schedules and oversee production timelines
Coordinate subcontractors and vendors
Communicate progress toward production, financial, quality, and safety goals to internal and external stakeholders
Negotiate and manage change orders
Establish and maintain customer relationships
Oversee process improvements in projects with limited precedents that may have enterprise-wide impact
Monitor and manage vendor relationships
Prepare, present, and distribute project and program information to both internal and external groups
Identify resource and equipment requirements, oversee capacity planning, and manage software/hardware availability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
5 years of commercial / industrial construction industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years managing Structural Steel Erector projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with MS Office
Familiarity with the AISC Manual of Steel Construction for developing conforming shop and erection drawings
Knowledge of construction codes and practices
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Preferred
Experience with commercial fabrication and/or detailing experience is a plus
Experience with FabSuite and Tekla preferred
Proficiency with Tekla Structures, Tekla EPM, and Trimble Connect software
