Land Development Landscape Architect

STV is currently seeking a Landscape Architect II for its Buildings group. The role involves collaborating on a variety of land development projects, preparing construction documents, and working with multidisciplinary teams to enhance design skills and project quality.

Responsibilities

Prepare construction documents, permit packages, and support construction services
Utilize design software (MicroStation, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD) to create construction drawings, layouts, and models for land development projects
Conduct site investigations and assessments to support design decisions
Develop sustainable and innovative solutions for site layouts, including on-structure podium landscapes, while elevating outdoor experiences for the end user
Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and feasibility studies
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to integrate site and landscape design with overall project goals
Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and progress
Support project managers by monitoring budgets, schedules, and deliverables
Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices to enhance project quality

Required

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university (required)
Licensed Professional Landscape Architect in the State of Maryland (required)
5+ years of experience in landscape architecture, land development, or a related field
Familiarity with principles of site planning and urban design, including site analysis and land use planning
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to progress multiple projects simultaneously
Effective graphic, written, and verbal communication skills for client and team collaboration
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Strong knowledge of the Forest Conservation Act and native and adaptive plant material (Northeastern US)
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred

Experience with MicroStation, Civil 3D or AutoCAD is strongly preferred
Proficiency in Sketchup, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
Enscape and Land F/X, a plus
Familiarity of permitting processes in Maryland jurisdictions (Baltimore City experience a plus)
