Procurement Specialist
Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is dedicated to honoring and empowering veterans, and they are seeking a Procurement Specialist to perform procurement duties for the organization. The role involves managing inventory and purchasing a variety of goods and services while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
Utilize formal, controlled processes to purchase office supplies, marketing and promotional materials, IT equipment, vendor services, apparel, and other goods and services, and in accordance with established policies and procedures
Ensure procurement policies and procedures are implemented properly. Recommend changes to management for improvements to procurement policies and procedures
Perform financial analyses for purchases and renewal decisions, based on contract terms and business inputs, and in advance of contract expiration
Review requisitions, specifications, and statements of work for requested goods and services
Identify qualified vendors for sourcing requirements
Work with vendors to obtain product and service information, i.e., price, availability, and delivery options
Determine method of procurement, e.g., direct purchase or bid
Prepare and issue requests for information/quotes/proposals (RFI/RFQ/RFP)
Work with vendors to obtain product or service information, e.g., price, availability, and delivery options
Review vendor proposals and price quotes, and plan source selection process
Assist with negotiating contract commercial terms and conditions including price and delivery schedule
Work with WWP Legal to draft, negotiate, and implement agreements to ensure contract compliance
Serve as liaison between WWP and vendors to resolve procurement issues with vendors
Monitor vendor performance including product and service quality, contract compliance, on-time deliveries, invoicing, and corrective action responses
Assess vendor risk and identify mitigation plans and alternative vendors
Maintain records of all quotes, purchases, and approved vendors
Review inventory levels to determine when stock is low
Procure items and replenish inventory to established stocking levels
Assist with forecasting inventory usage, creating costing models, and providing regular updates to department leadership
Attend and actively participate in required training and/or meetings, including but not limited to New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention training, Leadership training, culture/team based training, or departmental huddles
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Three years of purchasing experience in a corporate environment
Three years of vendor management experience
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business or related field. Equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and certification may be considered in lieu of degree
Good interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team environment with the ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature and flexible manner, and build effective working relationships with team members. Effectively interact with internal and external customers
Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking skills and analytical skills, troubleshoot, identify viable options, and problem solve
Good organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner. Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced working environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate with vendors and suppliers
Demonstrated ability to perform cost and pricing analyses
Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Demonstrated proficiency in using data mining and reporting software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High energy level. Self-starter; willing to take initiative and work independently to accomplish tasks and assignments

Preferred
Four years of vendor management experience
Two years of inventory management experience
Two years of experience working with Great Plains
Two years of inventory tracking experience
Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)
