Responsibilities

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with US GAAP

Oversee external audits and coordinate with auditors and tax advisors

Manage hands-on accounting operations and mentor accounting staff

Provide guidance on technical accounting matters, including M&A, impairment, hedge accounting, and derivatives

Strengthen internal controls and support accounting process improvements

Drive system enhancements and automation initiatives

Prepare financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders

Collaborate with global and regional finance teams

Required

Experience in the energy industry

Experience in an international / global environment

Strong accounting knowledge related to trading, including hedge accounting and derivatives

Prior executive-level experience (Director / Controller / VP level)

English: Native level (required)

Public accounting background (ideally Big 4, 5–7 years, Manager level)

CPA

M&A and tax-related accounting knowledge

Experience working with Japanese companies, with an understanding of HQ-driven decision-making and collaboration with Japan

Japanese: Plus / preferred
