Cash Operation Generalist/Senior/Assistant (Vault Operations 1st Shift)

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that make up the Federal Reserve System. They are seeking a Cash Operation Generalist to work full-time on site in Philadelphia, PA, responsible for processing currency and managing cash operations in a high-volume production environment.

Responsibilities

Ensure that all daily processing activities are accomplished in an accurate, efficient, and detailed manner
Ensuring team documents are accurate by reviewing and correcting exceptions
Maximizing production of team by ensuring established workflows are followed
Maintain processing area organization before and during processing to ensure daily tasks are completed timely
Assist team members with work responsibilities as needed
Provide guidance to team members on proper procedures and how to address processing challenges that occur
Take on lead role within team in identifying and resolving processing and end of day settlement issues as they occur
Collaborate with management and field engineers to resolve technical issues as needed
Accept and verify deposits of currency and coin from armored carriers
Store currency and coin to vaults to await processing
Operate high-speed processing equipment
Perform internal transfers as needed
Fill currency orders for pay-out to designated carriers
Perform as a witness for currency destruction
Enter data into the automated settlement system for all transactions
Provide on the job training for new employees
Opening and closing of vault doors
Verify contaminated currency for authenticity
Destroy contaminated and unfit currency
Performing physical inventory of holdings and preparing financial settlements daily
Perform end of shift area inspections to ensure all valuables are properly secured
Cross train for functions outside of assigned areas
Travel to assist other Federal Reserve districts as needed
Help with ordering of supplies needed for the operations
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

Comprehensive knowledge of applicable controls and procedures
Cash handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience
Demonstrated coaching and training abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in mathematics
Possess relevant cash handling experience
Experience with FRS valuable handling procedures
Communication and critical thinking skills
Ability to operate pallet jack and forklift equipment
High School diploma preferred and/or equivalent work experience
Minimum five years' work experience in similar capacity
Employee is confined to a specific secured work area
Employee is accountable for large amounts of currency and coin
Extensive periods of standing, lifting, and bending on hard floor surface and walking long distances
Wear uniform smock when in secured areas
Safety shoes required for specific functions
Required to exceed a minimum production standard in assigned division of Cash
Will work overtime
Ability to lift 5-50 lbs. from ground level up to a height of four feet
Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time
Ability to load/unload containers for extended periods of time
The ability to push/pull containers weighing between five hundred to over 1,000 pounds
Ability to operate the forklift and pallet jacks
