Insurance Intern

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. is an electric utility offering an Insurance Intern opportunity for 2026. The intern will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the Insurance department, including invoice preparation and budget analysis.

Natural Resources

Responsibilities

Under supervision, the intern will be responsible for invoice preparation, budget analysis, renewal application process for various policies
Keep up to date on contractor insurance requirements and submit new contractors to our certificate of insurance management vendor
Monitor status of loss control recommendations
Assist, research and develop a recommendation on the utilization of Captive insurance for Tri-State
Prepare Insurance Survey for G&T members and summarize results

Required

Successfully completed two (2) to three (3) years of undergraduate study towards a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from an accredited college or university
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly motivated self-starter who likes to be challenged and has a willingness to learn
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and completeness
Experience and moderate proficiency using Microsoft Office products

Preferred

Preference will be given to students who attend accredited colleges and universities in Tri-State's service territory which includes Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and New Mexico
