Cross Reference On-Site Specialist

Responsibilities
Apply working knowledge of MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) industry and product information and to identify equivalent Grainger products for customer requests following established procedures
Travel up to 80% to customer locations to gather detailed product information about customer inventory needs
Arrange travel, file expense reports, submit project documents, and provide updates in accordance with project timelines under general guidance
Regularly communicate capacity and progress updates with team, leaders and other stakeholders
Develop and maintain proficient knowledge of the Grainger assortment and cross-referencing tools and processes
Share insights from daily work to support operational improvements and collaborate on enhancements based on stakeholder feedback
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent technical experience required
2+ years in MRO experience in sales or customer service or equivalent work experience in technical field (I.E. Production Maintenance, Electrical, Safety, Metal Working) required
In depth working knowledge of a wide variety of MRO industries and product lines
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across all organizational levels to solve operational challenges
Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes under moderate supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and other standard office software
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines in fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
