Responsibilities

Responsible for scoping, developing, executing and automating precision machining processes using 3/4/5 axis mills, multi-axis turning centers and pallet systems
Designing tooling, CAM programming, and working with machinists to prove out and bring up new product lines on tight timelines
Proactively identify and address potential development/production blockers
Bring development projects into production through defining and communicating manufacturing processes to production/engineering
Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting defined processes while in production

Required

High school diploma or equivalency certificate
5+ years experience independently developing machining processes (planning, programming, machining)
5+ years experience using CNC mills and lathes
3+ years developing machining processes using automation (pallet pools, robot loaders, etc.)
Basic understanding of GD&T and how it applies to the machined product
Ability to interpret CMM results and apply them to the machined product
Must be available for 10 hour shifts
Ability to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Ability to stand for extended periods - 8 hours min
Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
Ability to work in an environment with repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or materials engineering
15+ years experience independently developing machining processes on 5 axis mills and multi-task turning centers (planning, programming, machining)
Experience bringing single digit micron tolerance machined part processes into production
Experience creating clear manufacturing process proposals (cycle time estimates, tooling design, part flow)
Demonstrated “exceptional” machining ability
