Electrical Engineer I

The Electrical Engineer I will provide basic electrical engineering services to support the operation and maintenance of the campus electrical distribution system or the design and operation of electrical equipment associated with research efforts.

Responsibilities
Perform basic design and installation of electrical electrical/electronic components
Review and provide input to engineering plans and specifications for electrical systems
Perform basic troubleshooting associated with electrical systems; may involve calibration and repair work
Prepare drawings, schematic diagrams and related documentation associated with electrical components and systems
Monitor expenses incurred; prepare related reports
Interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
0-2 years of job related experience
Entry professional level knowledge and skills in the application of electrical engineering principles, processes and practices
Skills in application of regulations, codes and safety practices associated with electrical systems
Use of office and engineering/technical related computer applications, databases and systems
Preferred
Experience with drafting complex schematics in Altium, Visio, or similar circuit design / PCB layout software
Extensive experience with design alterations using SolidWorks or equivalent mechanical design software
3D printing experience
IPC/WHMA-A-620 certified
Experience and background performing electrical technician tasks such as wiring harness and circuit board fabrication and assembly of electronic warfare hardware
