Fund Accounting Manager

GID is a privately-held, vertically-integrated real estate company that manages a portfolio of multifamily and industrial assets. The Fund Accounting Manager is responsible for accounting, reporting, and compliance functions for real estate investment funds, ensuring accurate financial statements and supporting strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

Prepare quarterly and annual fund level financial statements, supporting schedules, and workpapers
Ensure timely preparation of GAAP compliant financial reports, including consolidation entries, eliminations, and footnotes
Review property level financial statements and ensure accuracy in consolidation
Prepare or review quarterly cash flow statements and performance metrics
Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods
Prepare capital calls, distributions, and partner allocations
Prepare investor reporting deliverables: quarterly reports, capital account statements, and fee calculations
Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, waterfalls, and investor requirements
Serve as a contact for interim and year end audits
Prepare audit support and respond to auditor inquiries
Prepare year-end property and fund level tax packages
Maintain internal controls and adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements
Supervise and mentor fund accounting staff
Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes
Collaborate with Treasury on cash management and funding
Identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvements
Interpret partnership agreements, loan documents, and transaction files
Support acquisition, disposition, financing, and restructuring activities

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
5–8 years of experience in real estate fund accounting, private equity, or public accounting. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a managerial role
Strong working knowledge of consolidation and real estate structures
Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
Proficiency with Yardi, Workiva, Excel, and related financial systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Leadership capability with a collaborative mindset

Preferred

CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
Experience using Yardi IM and Performance manager for performance calculations
