Traffic Designer

Responsibilities
Developing detailed design elements, calculations, and technical documentation required for project delivery
Independently performing and coordinating advanced traffic engineering analyses, including:
Multimodal operations analysis
Traffic safety analysis
Travel demand modeling
Signing, striping, and pavement marking design
Traffic signal design
Temporary traffic control design
Illumination and ITS design
Making informed technical decisions related to project design details in accordance with project goals, applicable standards, and client requirements
Applying a strong working knowledge of traffic engineering software and design tools to complete complex assignments efficiently and accurately
Collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams on project setup, data collection, analysis, documentation, quality control, and quality assurance
Supporting project managers and task leads by providing technical input, coordinating design tasks, and helping maintain project schedules and deliverables
Applying company standards, procedures, and workflows consistently across project work
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent technical training
Professional registrations or certifications relevant to the field (e.g., EIT, PE, PTOE, or similar) preferred
7+ years of relevant traffic engineering or transportation design experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficiency with traffic engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Synchro, VISSIM, VISUM, HCS, HSM, FREEVAL, and related tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
